Pawlet family identified in weekend shooting

A family is dead after a shooting in Pawlet, Vermont, and no one is in custody.

Vermont State Police say the victims are Brian Crossman, Sr., 46, Erica Pawlusiak Crossman, 41, and Colin Taft, 13. Taft was Erica’s son and Brian’s stepson.

VSP said their bodies were found at a home Sunday in Pawlet.

According to Vermont State Police, Brian Crossman’s cause of death was gunshot wounds to the head and torso. Erica was shot in the head, and Taft had multiple gunshot wounds. All three deaths were ruled a homicide.
