Person hit, killed by SUV in Rensselaer County

A person has died after being hit by an SUV in eastern Rensselaer County.

The crash happened around 3:40 Tuesday morning on State Route 67, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver immediately stopped and called for help.

The victim’s name is being withheld until family is notified.

State Route 67 is closed from State Route 22 to Cottrell Road while police investigate.
