The Pet Zone, a pet store with locations in Crossgates Mall and Aviation Mall, deceived New Yorkers into buying sick pets, says New York state’s attorney general.
Letitia James says customers were given incomplete medical records to hide pets’ illnesses.
She announced an agreement Monday with Bell Pet company, which does business with The Pet Zone.
The company will pay up to $200,000 to reimburse qualifying customers for medical costs.
The Pet Zone will post information about who is eligible within the next 30 days.
