Pittsfield home destroyed by fire
Fire destroyed a Pittsfield home on Thursday.
The fire broke out around 2 p.m. at 89 Cromwell Avenue.
The balloon frame construction allowed the fire to quickly spread, investigators said. It took two hours to get under control.
One woman who escaped was treated and released for smoke inhalation. She was the only person home at the time.
The Red Cross is now helping the two people who lived there.
There are no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
