A Pittsfield man will spend one year in jail for indecent assault against a child.

James Wheeler, 67, has been sentenced after being found guilty during last month’s trial, according to NewsChannel 13’s media partners at the Berkshire Eagle.

The incident happened back in 2020 and involved a 14-year-old child.

Wheeler was later indicted by a Berkshire County grand jury.

Wheeler must serve two years of probation as part of his sentence and must register as a sex offender.
