Pittsfield Police: No criminal offense in report of car following student

Pittsfield Police said an incident on Monday in which a student reported a suspicious vehicle that appeared to be following them was not criminal in nature.

The student in the Conte school district was able to get to a familiar house and reported what had happened, police said.

The adult at that house was able to take a picture of the car and report what had happened.

Officers made contact with the driver of the vehicle and questioned them. At this time, there is no evidence that suggests the vehicle/driver in question was involved in criminal activity, police said.

The driver was advised how their behavior was thought to have been very concerning to the child and community.
