Plug Power’s new Vista Tech Park factory was opened Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. It will bring 1,600 new jobs to the Capital Region.
Gov. Kathy Hochul and Sen. Chuck Schumer were there.
Schumer says the new good-paying green energy jobs will come right here to the Capital Region.
The governor says this will strengthen the Capital Region as a powerhouse for clean energy.
“That’s how we align our climate goals, stop the pollution, but also help defray the costs for our farmers, and small businesses and our residents,” said Hochul.
Schumer also highlighted opening this factory would not be possible without an investment tax credit he was able to deliver in 2017.
