Police: Albany man had gun, heroin
An Albany man is accused of having a loaded gun and heroin.
Albany Police stopped a group of people in the area of Madison Avenue and Grand Street as part of an investigation.
They left the scene and officers chased after them They caught two people and arrested them.
Jaidin Cruz, 21, was caught and police found the gun and drugs. The handgun was reported stolen from North Carolina.
Cruz was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance, loitering and criminal possession of stolen property.
Jhafar Arrington, 20, of Albany, was charged with loitering and obstructing governmental administration. He was released on an appearance ticket and will appear in Albany City Criminal Court on a later date.
