Police: Amsterdam man charged in drug sale

An Amsterdam man is accused of drug sale.

Russell Harris, 57, was arrested last Wednesday following an investigation by the Amsterdam Police Department in drug activity occurring in the five corners area of Amsterdam. Police released the information on Tuesday morning.

Harris sold a controlled substance to a police source, investigators said.

Harris was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony.

The New York State Police Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Montgomery County District Attorneys’ Office assisted in the investigation.
