Police: Ballston Spa man tried to meet who he thought was 12-year-old child for sex

State Police said a Ballston Spa man attempted to meet who he believed was a 12-year-old child for sex.

Thomas A. Belisario, 40, has been charged with first-degree attempted criminal sex act and attempted use of a child in a sexual performance.

Belisario is accused of making arrangements and traveling to an agreed upon location in Halfmoon to meet up with who he believed was a child. He was actually corresponding with police.

Belisario was arraigned at Halfmoon Town Court and released under the supervision of the Saratoga County Probation Department. He is due back in court on Oct. 18 at 6 pm.

The case was investigated by the State Police Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, Homeland Security Investigations and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
