Police: Bennington woman stabbed her dog

A Bennington woman is accused of stabbing a dog.

Roxanne Coleman, 29, was charged with cruelty to animals.

Bennington Police responded to Coleman’s home on Main Street, after she reported that another dog in her residence was attacking a dog.

She responded by stabbing the 1-year-old Welsh terrier/labrador mix named Duncan on the left side of his face. It caused a 2 to 3-inch cut and he required four sutures, police said.

Coleman owns three dogs. All three are in the custody of Bennington Animal Control.
