Body found in smoldering Glens Falls clothing donation bin
Glens Falls Police are investigating a dead body discovered in a clothing donation bin.
Officers on patrol around 2:20 a.m. saw the bin in the parking lot of 70 Hudson Ave., and it appeared to be on fire. That’s the area of Talk of the Town Pizza Restaurant. The fire department responded and put out the fire. The dead person was discovered inside, according to police.
The person has been identified, but not yet confirmed. An autopsy will be done.
The scene was cleared around 11 a.m.
Police said the incident was not connected to any businesses in the area.
In addition, police received two 911 calls on March 5 around 9:30 p.m. in the area of Hudson Avenue as well as Broad Street. Investigators at this time do not know if they are related to the death investigation.
