Police: Charges pending for driver who struck dog and left the scene
Catskill Police identify suspect accused of hitting, killing dog.
Catskill Police said Wednesday that charges are pending against the driver who struck and killed a dog and left the scene.
The incident happened on Oct. 10 at about 6:08 p.m. at the corner of Thompson and Main Street in Catskill. A dog named Rocky had escaped from a residence, where he was being watched, and ran into the road.
The driver of a blueish Kia Sportage struck the dog and left the scene, according to police.
Rocky was taken to Ulster Animal Hospital, where he had to be euthanized due to the severity of his injuries.
Police said a suspect has been identified and police would release more information soon.
