A Montgomery County woman was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated, police said. At least one child was in the car, according to investigators.

The arrest happened in February, but investigators just released the information on Tuesday.

Karen F. Swanker, 36, of Fonda, was stopped on Route 5 in the town of Mohawk for a traffic violation, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

She was arrested after a field sobriety test.

Swanker was charged with Leandra’s Law and other related charges. She was released on an appearance ticket, and is due in Mohawk Town Court at a later date.
