Police: Garage attacks random, unrelated
ALBANY – It isn’t clear at this point if they’re unrelated, isolated incidents, or part of an alarming trend. Police told NewsChannel 13 they have received complaints about attacks taking place near the East Garage at the corner of Madison Avenue and Eagle Street in downtown Albany.
One of those incidents occurred the day after Christmas. A man asked the victim for money, the victim refused, and the suspect struck the victim in the head.
Andre Lundstrom, 53, was arrested on Jan. 2 and charged with harassment and criminal mischief, Lundstrom was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court.
On the morning of Jan. 15, another person was struck in the head walking from the East Garage. No one is in custody yet for that attack.
NewsChannel 13 reported that the assaults have left state workers on edge. They are calling for more security in the parking garages.
