TROY, N.Y. (WNYT)- Skeletal remains were found near the Burden Pond/Burden Falls area in South Troy, according to Troy Police. Police said a caller reported finding the remains while taking a walk in that area around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

“Details remain limited at this time,” police said. “Investigative staff will be continuing their work in order to learn the identity of the deceased, how long the remains have been in the area, how the individual may have died and if any crime occurred.”

Troy Police, members of the Rensselaer County Medical Examiner’s office and New York State Police are expected to be at the scene throughout the day on Monday.
