Police increasing patrols for St. Patrick’s Day
Agencies across the state will be cracking down on impaired drivers for the St. Patrick’s Day holiday.

A statewide campaign will run from Friday night through Sunday.
There will be increased DWI patrols and sobriety checkpoints.
Businesses will also be checked to make sure they’re not selling alcohol to minors.
Drivers can also expect more ticketing of distracted drivers, such as people using their phones.
The crackdown is funded each year by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.
There were 21,282 tickets issued during last year’s campaign.
