Second arrest made in Amsterdam murder

Police have made a second arrest in an Amsterdam murder from last month. Freyland Sanyet-Malpica, 40, is facing charges in connection to the death of Robert Green Jr.

Amsterdam Police have made a second arrest in December’s fatal shooting.

Freyland Sanyet-Malpica, 40, has been charged with second-degree murder criminal possession of a weapon in the death of 34-year-old Robert M. Green Jr. Green Jr. was shot on Dec. 18 around 7:20 p.m. on James Street.

Police determined that Sanyet-Malpica was allegedly involved. On Dec. 30, he was located on Slater Street and arrested. 

Sanyet-Malpica was arraigned in Amsterdam City Court and sent to Montgomery County Jail.

Additional arrests are possible. The investigation is ongoing and further arrests and charges are possible. Angel L. Morales, 30, has been arrested in this case. Police said it stemmed from an ongoing dispute between Morales and Green Jr.
