Police: Man fired birdshot at son, 34, he threatened to kill father
Police said a man fired birdshot at his son after he threatened to kill his father after the son barged into his home.
A Saratoga County man fired a gun containing birdshot at his son after the son barged into his home and threatened to kill him, police said.
It happened around 9 p.m. Sunday in the town of Providence.
Ethan J. Chase, 34, who is homeless, allegedly forced his way inside the house on Catherine Road in Providence, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
Earl W. Chase III, 66, armed himself with a shotgun and fired a round after his son refused to leave. Ethan J. Chase was struck in the shoulder. The father has an order of protection against his son, who had threatened to kill his father.
Ethan Chase was taken into custody and transported to Albany Medical Center. He is currently in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
