A Mechanicville woman is accused of entering a home, stealing items and assaulting the resident.

Jessie L. Smith, 34, is facing charges of burglary, robbery, grand larceny, two counts of assault and criminal mischief, police said.

The incident took place on Wednesday at around 6:50 p.m. at a residence in Halfmoon. Smith allegedly entered the home without permission, took items and struck the resident. She also is accused of damaging property.

Smith left before police arrived. She was located at her home and arrested.

Smith was arraigned in Clifton Park Town Court and sent to Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $30,000 cash, a $60,000 bond, or a $300,000 partially secured bond.
