A Pittsfield man is facing charges after police said he admitted to having sex with an 11-year-old girl.

Paul Newtown-Irelan told police that he brought the girl to his home from Schenectady, according to NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle. He said he believed the girl was 18 years old.

Newtown-Irelan is also accused of sending pornographic material to the girl’s phone.

He is in jail and faces up to 20 years in prison.
