Police: Pittsfield man had loaded gun

Pittsfield Police have arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly carrying a loaded gun.

Officers saw two men walking north on North Street on Wednesday around 7:15 p.m. One of them was carrying a bottle of liquor. Police believe the other man was carrying a firearm.

When officers attempted to speak with them, they attempted to back away from police. Officers quickly closed in on them before they had a chance to run and arrested them.

Zevion Derrick Johnson, of Pittsfield, was charged with two counts of having a firearm without a license and having ammunition without an FID card.

He was arraigned Thursday at Central Berkshire District Court.

The other suspect was cited for possessing alcohol under the age of 21.
