Police: Rensselaer man injured trooper during traffic stop
A Rensselaer man is accused of striking a trooper during a traffic stop.
State Police stopped a vehicle on the Northway in Colonie on Wednesday at around 12:40 p.m. for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Quinn James Min-Shik Doedema, 29.
Doedema was uncooperative and did not follow a trooper’s instructions to stay in his car. He allegedly resisted arrest when being taken into custody and caused a non-life-threatening injury to a trooper.
In addition, Doedema had multiple items containing drug residue, investigators said.
He was arraigned in Colonie Town Court on charges of assault, criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and traffic violations.
Doedema was sent to Albany County Jail and held on bail of $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.
