Police: Schenectady homicide victim is brother of woman killed in 2016
The 15-year-old killed in a shooting on Saturday night is the brother of a woman killed in 2016, Schenectady Police confirmed.
Dubar Knowles found in the backyard of a home at 1122 Congress St. with a gunshot wound to the chest. He died from his injuries. Police said the shooting occurred at some type of party. A 13-year-old girl also was injured.
Knowles was the brother of Medina Knowles, who was killed by then-20-year-old Raekwon Stover in September 2016. Stover was Knowles was dating 17-year-old Medina. Stover eventually made Medina prostitute herself for money. When she refused to do it anymore, prosecutors said Stover got angry and shot her in the head with her son and siblings in another room.
Raekwon Stover was sentenced in March 2017 to 25 years to life in prison.
