Police: Scotia man tried to meet minor for sex
A Scotia man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly trying to entice a minor to have sex.
Zachary Long, 23, has been charged with attempted coercion and enticement of a minor.
Prosecutors allege that between Aug. 22 and Sept. 27, Long exchanged text messages with someone in Albany expressing interest in engaging in sexual conduct. Long and the other person discussed plans to meet at a prearranged location, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Law enforcement personnel arrested Long when he arrived at the location.
Long was arraigned on Thursday and ordered to be held pending trial.
