Police: Stolen car hits police cruiser after teens don’t put it in park

Two Schenectady teenagers were arrested after they stole a car from Crossgates Mall, police said. It happened after 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Guilderland Police found the stolen car on Crossgates Mall Road they said, and tried to stop it.

The teens tried to run away, according to police, but did not put the vehicle in park. The car then rolled down the street and hit a police car.

The teens were quickly caught and are now facing charges, including unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal possession of stolen property.

They were released to their guardians and due in Albany County Court at a later date.
