Police: Three people arrested after running away from stolen car

Three people were arrested after police said they ran away from a stolen car, which was running and struck a Watervliet Police car.

The incident happened on Sept. 26 around 2:30 p.m., but police released the information about it on Oct. 3. Officers found a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Albany parked in the area of 3rd Avenue and 16th Street in Watervliet. Three people approached the vehicle. They immediately ran away after seeing police. They left the car running and it struck the police car.

After a foot chase, the three suspects were captured.

Police found stolen credit cards and a fanny pack with illegal narcotics.

Kemaury T. Everett, 18, and two juveniles were charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Everett was released with an appearance ticket.

One of the juveniles was released with an appearance ticket for Albany County Family Court and the other was sent to the Capital District Juvenile Secure Detention Facility on outstanding warrants.
