Police: Troy man had over 8 pounds of meth
Police arrested a Troy man on Tuesday for allegedly having more than 8 pounds of methamphetamine and a loaded handgun.
Officers responded to Lincoln Avenue in Troy for a report of suspicious activity. They found a man in a parked vehicle and drugs inside. Police said the suspect, 28-year-old Thomas Ravenell, ran away into a nearby wooded area. He was captured a short time later.
Police found more than 8 pounds of crystal meth and pill-form meth. They also found a loaded gun, marijuana, $6,485 in cash and packaging equipment, police said.
Ravenell was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon. He was held for arraignment Wednesday in Troy City Court.
