A 24-year-old Vermont woman is accused of abandoning 10 puppies at a home in Whitehall.
Rebecca A. Beaupre, 24, allegedly removed the puppies, which were less than four weeks old, from the mother dog without the owner’s permission or knowledge.
Beaupre is then accused of bringing the puppies to the Whitehall residence in kennels and leaving them without food or water. Police said they were left for around two hours.
The puppies were found in July, and Beaupre was arrested this month. Police just released the information on Tuesday.
Police found the owner and returned the puppies.
Beaupre knew the victim, police said.
Beaupre was arrested in Hartford and charged with 10 counts of overdriving, torturing, and injuring animals.
