Poll: Hochul favored in Democratic primary; faces tough re-election overall

Gov. Kathy Hochul would easily beat her potential opponents in a hypothetical democratic primary, according to a new Siena poll.

The poll found Hochul with a commanding lead of 46% over Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado, who had 11% and U.S. Rep. Ritchie Torres, who had 10%.

Two-thirds of Democrats currently approve the job Hochul is doing as governor, while 79% of Republicans and 59% of independents disapprove, the poll found.

Just 34% of voters said they would re-elect Hochul, according to the poll.

The poll was conducted March 2-6 of 806 registered voters.
