Power restored after second major Rensselaer County outage in two days

Power is now back on for most of the 12,000 National Grid customers in Rensselaer County who lost it on Tuesday.
This is the second major outage in that area in two days.
National Grid Spokesperson Patrick Stella blames an equipment malfunction at the East Greenbush substation. He says it’s the same substation responsible for Sunday’s outage, but not the same piece of equipment that failed on Sunday.
Stella says repairs are now being made.
