President of Republican Siena group has theory on polling margins of error
Students at Siena College in Loudonville have strong words about the election, especially the group Republicans for Siena College.
About 10 to 15 students are the in the organization, including Lucas Helms, the president.
He highlighted economic stability and national security, as priorities they feel resonated with many young voters.
However, he said he was surprised how quickly the results came in compared to 2020. He also has an idea of why he believes the polls fell beyond the margin of error.
“I think they were off, but they were off in the same way they were in 2016 and 2020. Trump was always considered politically hot,” said Helms.
He explained people who may have wanted to vote for Trump didn’t necessarily want to tell that to a pollster.
NewsChannel 13 reached out to Democrats for Siena, but we’re told the organization is not active at this time.
