Pair pleads not guilty in pit bull’s gruesome death

Christopher Maxwell and Letisha Ellis are accused of setting one of their dogs on fire.

Protesters were outside the Albany City Courthouse on Friday calling for tougher penalties, after two people accused in the crime pleaded not guilty inside the court.

These charges are related to the one-year-old dog who was set on fire in a parking lot in Albany.

Angry protesters were at the courthouse on Friday as those two suspects faced a judge.
