The Rensselaer County Legislature on Monday unanimously approved a budget with a 10% property tax reduction.
This is the sixth consecutive reduction in the property tax rate, County Executive Steve McLaughlin said.
The budget will include funding to bring the final phase of its county facilities project to conclusion. Most of the work to relocate departments into the new county office building in downtown Troy is expected to be completed later this month.
The county has paved over 240 miles of the county’s 320-mile road network and is starting a project to expand water and sewer infrastructure in the southern area of the county.
