A Rensselaer County man was sentenced on Thursday to 30 years in prison for taking sexually explicit photos of a child around 5 years old.

Zachary Frye, 29, previously admitted he took the in the fall of 2019. The images included the child’s private parts and Frye interacting with that child, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Frye also sent those images to another person on social media with whom he had discussed the sexual abuse of children, prosecutors said.

Frye was convicted in 2017 of promoting the sexual performance of a child.

He also was placed on lifetime probation after he gets out of prison and must register as a sex offender.
