Rensselaer woman killed in Northway crash

A Rensselaer woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on the Northway in Saratoga County.

The crash happened just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1 just north of the Exit 14 off-ramp northbound, according to New York State Police.

Makenzie T. Minkler, 25, flipped over several times in the car she was driving, police said. Minkler died at Saratoga Hospital.

The northbound Exit 14 off-ramp and the right lane of I-87 northbound were closed for around four hours. The cause is under investigation.

A second three car was reported because of vehicles reacting to the initial crash, which further delayed traffic. No significant injuries were reported from that crash.
