Dozens of people who live in the Parkview Apartments in Albany still can’t go home.
Burst pipes and electrical outages forced residents out of the 12-story building last weekend.
Electricians and engineers are taking apart the damage, the property manager said.
Water got into the main electric system on Sunday, which short-circuited the main power for six floors. NewsChannel 13 went inside some of the apartments earlier this week. We saw flooding and damage to the ceilings.
The evacuation was for safety reasons.
Many residents are older and in wheelchairs. The people who were displaced cannot return to their apartments until the power can be restored.
Apartment management has put the residents in hotels. They were given prepaid meal cards.
Management says the goal is to get people back in their apartments by Friday.
