Albany is considering doubling the fee it allows tow truck drivers to charge when cars are towed from city streets.
The new legislation would increase the fee from $100 to $200, according to the Times Union.
Fees haven’t increased since 2006, the paper reported.
Police have reported increased wait times for tow trucks to arrive, because towing companies know that other local governments allow them to charge a higher fee.
