A State Police investigation has found a Troy police officer at fault in a deadly crash from February.

The Times Union reports that Officer Justin Byrnes was traveling nearly 90 mph before his SUV drove through a red light at an intersection on Hoosick Street.

A 30-year-old man was killed when his car was hit in the crash.

The report finds Byrnes failed to use caution while responding to an emergency.

He could face criminal charges if his actions are determined to be reckless or negligent.
