A silent film recently discovered in the National Archives captures what went on in Farsleben, Germany in April 1945.

It’s three and a half minutes long and it shows the scene as American soldiers – who happened upon the stalled train – saved Jewish prisoners.

Author and retired history teacher Matt Rozell of Hudson Falls has been telling the story of Farsleben for 22 years.

Don’t miss Mark Mulholland’s interview with Rozell on NewsChannel 13 Thursday, starting Live at 4 and on WNYT.com.
