Athletes competed in one of seven different events: bocce, cycling, golf, cross country running, soccer, softball and equestrian.
1,300 athletes and coaches came from all around the state to compete.
One athlete has competed in almost every event Special Olympics has to offer.
Kevin Brown was born and raised in Albany, but he’s traveled all over the world with Special Olympics.
Brown has not only won a gold medal in the international games of China, he has also won a gold medal in cross country skiing in Alaska.
Brown works in the FBI’s mailroom in Albany. He says that the Special Olympics made him the person he is today.
All of the competitions took place Saturday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m..
