Saratoga Co Sheriff’s Office arrested Mechanicville man for violating order of protection, harassment

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested Richard M. Bartis, 37, of Mechanicville and charged him with aggravated family offense, second-degree criminal contempt, and second-degree harassment.
Waterford Police had an arrest warrant out for Bartis.
The Sheriff’s Office says he is accused of committing a specified offense under the statute having been convicted of one or more specified offenses within the preceding five years of the offense.
Authorities say the incident allegedly occurred on July 6 in the Town of Halfmoon.
They say Bartis is also charged with violating the terms of a “refrain from conduct” order of protection, and engaging in a course of conduct that alarmed another person and served no legitimate purpose.
Bartis was arraigned in Halfmoon Town Court and released to pretrial services. He was then turned over to Waterford Police on their warrant.
