Saratoga County leaders are hoping to buy property for a permanent Code Blue shelter to protect people from the cold.
The planning for this will take the next step August 20, going before Saratoga County Board of Supervisors.
The location in question is 96 Ballston Avenue in Saratoga Springs. It’s 1.4 acres, and would cost around $3 million.
Shelters of Saratoga would build and operate the shelter. It is located near the Saratoga County Mental Health Facility and on a bus line.
The county has contracted with area motels to act as a Code Blue shelter in the past.
