The event was at Geyser Road Elementary School in Saratoga Springs.
The goal of the event was to teach people how to recognize an opioid overdose and administer nasal Narcan.
After the training, participants received a free Narcan rescue kit.
New York State’s Good Samaritan law allows people to call 911 without fear of arrest if they are having a drug overdose that requires emergency medical care, or if they witness someone overdosing.
