Saratoga County welcomes fired correction officers to apply

Saratoga County announced on Friday that they are welcoming correction officers who were fired for illegally striking to apply for open positions.

The county is looking for six correction officers.

“We fully support officers who had serious concerns that were unaddressed by the State for their own personal safety initiated by the Governor signing the HALT Act and encourage these individuals to apply for employment in Saratoga County,” the county said in a statement.

Interested applicants should email sheriffjobs@saratogacountyny.gov for more information.

Gov. Kathy Hochul has prohibited any fired officers from working in state positions and temporarily banned local law enforcement agencies from hiring them. However, that order is only in effect for the duration of the state of emergency declared during the prison strikes. That emergency expires April 9.
