The good news is that shoppers were back in downtown Saratoga Springs on Monday. However, the early Sunday morning shooting there continues to ripple through the business community.
The open question is whether business owners in this community are concerned that what happened in the wee hours Sunday morning could repeat – which could mean further repairs to their businesses, or even worse, injury or loss of life.
The plate glass window at Piper Boutique on Broadway was hit in the shooting. It was replaced with a new window on Monday afternoon. Otherwise, everything seemed like business as usual in Saratoga Springs on Monday.
For the most part, business owners seem optimistic they will have a successful holiday shopping season.
People there tell NewsChannel 13 they regard what happened over the weekend as an isolated incident.
Folks also think of downtown Saratoga Springs as having two distinctly different personalities: one before and one after midnight.
There seems to be a perception that bad things are more likely to happen after the witching hour.
Hear one businessowner expand on that by watching the video of Dan Levy’s story.
