Schaghticoke man accused of causing pregnant woman to have a miscarriage

A man is facing assault charges, accused of causing a miscarriage without the victim’s knowledge.
Dia Beshara, 39, of Schaghticoke was arrested, the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s office said.
Beshara is accused of giving a pregnant victim mifepristone without her knowledge, causing a miscarriage.
He was charged with second-degree assault, arraigned in Schaghticoke and released on his own recognizance.
The victim now has a restraining order against Beshara, police said.
