Schenectady felon admits to having loaded gun
A Schenectady man has admitted to possessing a loaded shotgun as a felon.
Matthew Shaver, 23, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to having a loaded shotgun at his residence.
The weapon was found by federal investigators who were conducting a search of his home on Dec. 15, 2022, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Shaver has a previous felony assault conviction and is prohibited from owning a firearm.
Shaver faces up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 when sentenced on May 29.
He also faces up to three years of post-release supervision.
