Schenectady firefighter leaves after assault arrest

A Schenectady firefighter is stepping down, following his arrest on assault charges.
NewsChannel 13 has learned Daniel Farstad is charged with third-degree assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Fire Chief Don Mareno confirmed to NewsChannel 13 that Farstad gave his resignation from the department last week.
Farstad was arraigned on September 15. He pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to appear back in court on October 29.
