Schenectady man admits to having stolen gun

Schenectady man admits to having stolen gun in Saratoga County Court

A Schenectady man has admitted to possessing a stolen gun.

Raki Johnson , 25, pleaded guilty in Saratoga County Court on Wednesday to attempted criminal possession of a weapon. Johnson was arrested in August after Saratoga Springs Police spotted a black handgun in plain view in a parked car.

The 9 mm semiautomatic handgun was loaded with nine rounds of ammunition. It had been reported stolen out of Catawba County in North Carolina.  

Johnson is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 7, 2024.
